A Maiden Stake over 1m 75y on heavy ground. After yesterday's dismal performance of Andrew Balding's three-year-old at Pontefract I dare hardly mention his name. However, I am pretty sure the horse simply didn't perform and looked in a crappy mood when going down to post.
We are really pushing the limits here with a speculative bet, so please take this as something of a hit and hope. The Graduate is a grey colt and son of Mastercraftsman out of an unraced mare and was held in some regard at two and although relatively fancied on both start showed limited ability. The betting indicated to me this February foal was expected to go well. I was going to put those efforts down to soft ground but considering these will need a brolly and wellington boots we will have to hope there was another reason. It is interesting to consider this horse was an expensive foal at 165,000EUR and 100,000GNS yearling when purchased by the trainer. May have a claim at mega prices.
